TOPIC: I WILL GIVE YOU REST

BIBLE PASSAGE: Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

I want to return all the glory to God for another privilege to witness another edition of Beauty for Ashes.  We thank Him for January edition, Roll away the stone.  Now the February edition has come, all glory to Jesus forever. This is also the last week of the 50 days fasting declared by our father in the Lord, it will be ending with Beauty for ashes also.

This edition, just like I told us last month, is an invitation from God Himself. He has made up His mind to give us rest. That rest will be your portion in the name of Jesus

The Almighty God will minister to us Himself throughout these five days in Jesus name.

Let me start by saying this: The only solution God has provided for all our problems to be solved is through the honoring of this invitation. There is no other way out. COME UNTO ME. He has promised to give us rest.

What therefore is rest? It is defined as relief or freedom, especially from anything that wearies, troubles or disturbs someone. Let me quickly pray for us, by this beauty for ashes, WHATEVER REPRESENTS DISTURBANCE OR TROUBLES IN YOUR LIFE OR TROUBLES IN YOUR HOME WILL END THIS WEEK IN JESUS NAME

There are two types of rest, the physical and spiritual rest. It is only Jesus that can give you both.

God is unlimited in power, Whatever He has promised, He can and will do it. Just believe and trust Him. There are many things human beings cannot do for you,  so don’t trouble yourself wasting your time and resources. This beauty for ashes is what you need to take care of those things, if you can only come and honor the invitation of the Lord. It is only God that can give you genuine and original rest you are looking for. That is why He said you should come. The choice is yours.

The invitation is for those who are trusting Him for rest. So it is not for everyone. It is for those who are tired of the situation they are passing through, the invitation is for you, if the load you are carrying is bigger than you, the invitation is for you.

It is all about your readiness. Listen, the moment you are ready, God is ready.  Let me show you some instances in the Bible.

2 Kings 7:3-7 (KJV)

3 And there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?

4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall unto the host of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die. 5 And they rose up in the twilight, to go unto the camp of the Syrians: and when they were come to the uttermost part of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there. 6 For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.7 Wherefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their asses, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.

Luke 15:18, 20 (KJV)

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee, 20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

Listen to this, Satan is very good at his work. He’s doing it very well. Revelation 12:12 (KJV)  Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

He’s seriously pursuing his mission, to kill, steal and destroy. That is why the entire world is in disarray because of His mission. It was the lover of our souls that revealed Satan’s mission to us, we would have been in darkness. John 10:10 (KJV)  The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

What he cannot steal, he kills or destroys, but for you, he won’t be able to accomplish these missions in your life in Jesus name.

He comes in subtle ways that many atimes, its very difficult except God help out. For example,  he used Hamman to plan his mission in shushan

Esther 7:3-4 (KJV)

3 Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:

4 For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king’s damage.

But the good news this morning is what the Bible says in 1 John 3:8 (KJV) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

The Lord Jesus came to destroy his works, his missions, his assignment in your life. That is the good news. If Jesus can destroy Satan’s work without satan making trouble with the Lord, then the Lord Jesus is more powerful

Note the following:

1. NOT UNTIL SATAN’S WORKS ARE DESTROYED IN YOUR LIFE, YOU HAVE NO REST, STRUGGLES CONTINUE
2. NOT UNTIL YOU HONOR THE INVITATION OF COMING TO JESUS, NO REST
3. JESUS IS MORE SUPERIOR TO SATAN, THE LORD JESUS IS INCOMPARABLE
4. YOU HAVE A LOT TO GAIN FROM HONORING HIS INVITATION,  IT WILL FREE YOU FROM CARRYING THE BURDEN ON YOUR OWN, JESUS WILL HELP YOU CARRY IT BECAUSE HE IS A BURDEN BEARER.

WHAT ARE THE AREAS GOD WANTS TO GIVE YOU HELP?

1. Sin or sinful habit.
2. Sicknesses and diseases
3. Barrenness and FRUITLESSNESS
4. Failure
5. Hopeless cases
6. Depression,  oppression and the likes.
